Effects of High Temperature Treatments on Strength and Failure Behavior of Sandstone under Dynamic Impact Loads

With the increasing demand for resource consumption, mining depths gradually increase, resulting in increases of temperature at tens or even hundreds degrees. High could damage to interior structures and alter mechanical properties rock mass. Therefore, studying effects on dynamic failure behaviors are great significance deep resources exploitation. In this study, study high treatment strength behavior typical sandstones, specimens were prepared heated different The longitudinal wave velocity, volume, density before after high-temperature examined. Then, Thomas Hopkinson (SHPB) test was conducted with air pressures stress-strain curve, peak stress, strain, other characteristics obtained. variations regulations sandstone under treatments impact loads analyzed discussed from aspects stress-strain, strength, strain. It observed that increase heating temperature, average density, elastic modulus all showed a decreasing trend highest rated occurred between 600 °C 800 °C. obtained results provided certain theoretical basis mine exploitation, especially mines temperature.
